Apx Appoints Three Leaders to Expand Data Centre Cooling in Europe

Apx Data Centre Solutions has appointed Kris Wauters, Stuart Newman and Philippe Torres to strengthen its work across Europe’s data centre market. The appointments follow the rebranding of LFB Group’s data centre division to Apx, which provides heat rejection infrastructure for high-density, mission-critical environments.

Wauters joins as Enterprise Manager for the Benelux region, covering Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Formerly of Mitsubishi Electric, he will work with customers in telecom, precision laboratory cooling and mid-market data centres.

Newman joins as Business Development Manager for the UK, Ireland and European markets. He will work with consultants, contractors and enterprise, hyperscale and neo-cloud end users to develop reference designs and specifications for data centre projects.

Torres joins as Business Development Director after roles with FläktGroup and Schneider Electric, where he managed precision cooling solutions for server rooms, data centres and broader HVAC systems. Based on his experience in France, he will focus on long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction across hyperscale, enterprise and co-location data centres.

“We’re really excited to join the Apx Data Centre Solutions team, not least because it’s such a critical moment for the industry, but also because there’s a real opportunity here to do something different,” Stuart Newman said. “For such a long time, the sector has relied on ‘cookie-cutter’ strategies and specifications, but the pace of AI and rising rack densities means that those old blueprints no longer offer the technical certainty these critical environments need.”

Apx CEO Matt Evans said the appointments bring “years of hands-on experience, deep industry knowledge and a relentless focus on customer needs.” The company said the appointments bring the data centre business’ headcount to 23, with plans to grow its dedicated team to 50 by 2027 across Europe.
