Danfoss Expands SD Heat Exchangers Partnership in Benelux

Danfoss Climate Solutions’ HydronicS division and SD Heat Exchangers B.V. have signed a distributor agreement to expand their strategic partnership across the Benelux market. The agreement covers the Danfoss heating portfolio and was signed on May 6, 2026, at the Danfoss office in Copenhagen.

SD Heat Exchangers became an authorized Danfoss partner for plate heat exchangers in 2025. The new agreement extends the collaboration to control valves, motorized control valves, and energy meters. Stations and subassemblies are described as a natural next step in the partnership.

Danfoss said the expanded cooperation supports customer segments including district energy, data centers, and geothermal applications. SD Heat Exchangers has also expanded from its base in the Netherlands into France through SD Echangeurs Thermiques.

SD Heat Exchangers has committed to dedicated sales engineering resources, Danfoss product training, and a new Customer Experience Center in the Netherlands. The company is led by Theo Thoen and Hans Ter Velde and has a team of 32 specialists.

“Danfoss brings deep product and application expertise, while SD Heat Exchangers adds strong local market insight and close customer ties. Together, we create real customer value, fully aligned with our Danfoss LEAP 2030 strategy to accelerate growth through distribution,” said Kaj Väätäjä, Divisional President, HydronicS, Danfoss Climate Solutions.

Hans Ter Velde, Director of SD Heat Exchangers B.V., said the partnership allows the company’s engineering teams to deliver “complete stations, skids, or integrated systems” using Danfoss controls, valves, and energy meters. Both parties are targeting significant expansion over the next three to four years.
