MTA Introduces GEMINI Modular Chillers and Heat Pumps

MTA has introduced GEMINI, a modular range of air-to-water chillers and heat pumps for applications requiring flexibility, scalability and a reduced installation footprint. The units use R454B refrigerant and provide up to 300 kW (approx. 1,024,000 BTU/h) of heating and 320 kW (approx. 1,092,000 BTU/h) of cooling capacity in less than 9 m² (approx. 97 ft²).

GEMINI is based on a compact modular architecture that allows multiple units to be installed side by side with only 11 cm (approx. 4.3 in) between modules. The platform has a width of 1.1 m (approx. 3.6 ft) and lengths of 2.7 m (approx. 8.9 ft) or 3.7 m (approx. 12.1 ft), making it suitable for retrofit projects, technical rooms with limited access and high-density HVAC installations.

The platform delivers efficiency improvements compared with previous generations, including up to 19% higher SEER and up to 18% higher SEPR HT for process cooling applications. The heat pump range achieves SCOP improvements of up to 18% and delivers hot water temperatures up to 60°C (140°F) throughout the year. GEMINI also has Eurovent certification for cooling applications.

Scalable configurations and an optional hydraulic modularity kit allow up to six units to be connected on site. These configurations deliver heating capacities from 84 to 900 kW (approx. 287,000 to 3,071,000 BTU/h) and cooling capacities from 87 kW to more than 1 MW (approx. 297,000 to more than 3,412,000 BTU/h).

The modular architecture supports continuity in mission-critical applications through independent unit operation and multi-unit management during maintenance activities or defrost cycles. The optional Multimanager controller provides cascade control, pump management, redundancy logic and advanced diagnostics across multiple units.

For noise-sensitive environments, the XXLN low-noise configuration reduces sound levels by up to 10 dB(A) compared with the standard version while maintaining efficiency and compact dimensions. GEMINI is designed for comfort cooling and heating, industrial process cooling and IT environments.
