CIBSE Conference Pushes UK Net Zero Building Action

CIBSE Decarbonisation Conference 2026 brought together leaders, experts and practitioners from across the built environment to discuss technologies, policies and collaborative actions needed to accelerate the UK’s transition to net zero.

The event was held at the Knowledge Centre at the British Library in London and welcomed more than 150 built environment professionals. The programme focused on decarbonising buildings, improving performance and supporting industry change.

Presentations and panel discussions covered five themes: heating pathways to low carbon heat, cooling efficiency and climate resilience, retrofit and whole life carbon, performance and compliance, and policy and leadership.

The conference highlighted the role of cross-sector collaboration, innovation and leadership in delivering a more sustainable built environment. Speakers and attendees discussed barriers, scaling solutions and preparing the sector to meet future demands.

CIBSE thanked the speakers, delegates, contributors and sponsors, including Mitsubishi Electric, REFRA, Rinnai UK and Europe, Enwa Water Technology, Georg Fischer, Strebel UK, Qvantum UK and Pure Renewables.
