The Energy Center at Politecnico di Torino will host “Cool Intelligence: intelligent cooling for our future” on June 18, 2026. The free technical event is promoted by Centro Studi Galileo and Politecnico di Torino and will focus on the role of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps in the energy transition.
The programme will address “intelligent cooling” from a technical but accessible perspective, covering efficiency, innovation, sustainability and indoor environmental quality. Topics will include the cold chain, food safety, healthcare applications, building comfort and efficient energy management.
The first session, moderated by Marco Buoni, Board AREA International Affairs, Associazione italiana dei Tecnici del Freddo and Centro Studi Galileo, will focus on technology, data and sustainability. Planned topics include sensors, remote control, predictive maintenance, indoor air quality and the role of the cold chain.
The second session, moderated by Prof. Enrico Fabrizio of Politecnico di Torino, will examine the future of cooling in relation to cities, climate and new technologies. The session will cover energy efficiency, urban cooling, heat pumps and natural refrigerants.
The event will bring together universities, companies and professionals to discuss a sector described by the organisers as often less visible, but essential for sustainability, health, comfort and food safety.
